L'Oreal Color Riche Rouge Magique Lipstick Price Review and Swatches
Hello! It's been a while since I've posted a lipstick review, but I guess I am finding my muse back! Anyway, this one will be about the latest from L'oreal, Color Riche Rouge Magique Lipsticks which promise an intense and matte color payoff with just one swipe.
It is available in most leading department stores in the Philippines, in L'Oreal counters and at Lazada. In the L'Oreal counters it is on sale for 300 Php until April 30 2017, but the regular price is at 400 Php as per their facebook page. Let's see if it lives up to it's claims shall we?
Packaging:
I got this package from Lazada, but rest assured that all opinions are 100% my own and unbiased. Packaging is very sleek and classy with the glossy neon pink cap and matte black colors. Another plus is that the ingredients list is not in sticker form thus you can preserve the really classy lipstick. <3
Swatches:
They have a total of 15 shades, ranging from reds, nudes, and pinks but I only have 3 of them... They are Mont Blanc, Purple Comtesse and The Fort. And no, I don't mean Bonifacio Global City. hahaha!
L'Oreal's Rouge Magique Lipstick claim "One swipe gives you INTENSE
COLOR PAYOFF and MATTE finish" is so on point. All these swatches are
done on a one layer/swipe basis and MAN are they so good to look at. It
didn't settle on my fine lines upon application and they are a dream to
apply. I think this is more of a "creamy" matte because it glides like
butter onto the lips but dries matte and yet they managed to make it
very comfortable and not drying on the lips.
Colors (L-R): No Lipstick, Mont Blanc, Purple Comtesse, The Fort
Mont Blanc is a flesh pinkish nude lipstick that is well suited for pinay skintones. I am an NC 40 as per my MAC instructor in Makeup classes at SOFA,
and I find this color very flattering on me, although it kinda makes my
teeth yellow a bit. It's one of the best MLBB (my lips but better)
lipsticks that I have encountered and I know this will be a staple in my
travel makeup kit later!
Purple Comtesse comes off as a vampy, blue/purple based red, and I love it because it kinda makes my teeth whiter than normal. I know that if I apply this with a full face makeup I'll be slayin the house! Try it out for a nightout or for when you need that extra heap of confidence for a presentation at work. <3
The Fort is a strong brown based red. It's not directly brown, but it is directly bad ass. If you're not sure if browns are your thing you can take baby steps with this lipstick. I know though that I don't like browns that much unlike true reds, but I feel that this and the Miss Chocolate variant of L'Oreal Rouge Magique will be great for cosplays or for a photoshoot of the "gluttony" sin.
Longevity
So, I applied this lipstick after lunch around 1PM. After doing the swatches, I decided to keep The Fort for documentation purposes. Since I wasn't going out today, I took a bath with the Rouge Magique lipstick on and this is how it looks afterwards. Pretty good, no budging or feathering on the edges. I can consider it water resistant unlike other matte lippies who crack at the feel of water/perspiration.Unfortunately it is not transfer proof. I lightly kissed my husband here, but still some came off. This would be around 4PM, when we went out to get some merienda.
How the lipstick looks upon 3 hours of wear on the humid weather of the PH. |
Not transferproof. Some came off the kwek kwek I was eating and most came off the glass I drank from. |
How it looks after eating |
after eating, it was a bit uneven with upon close inspection but when you look from afar it doesn't look that bad. |
It leaves a nice stain once it has faded and it fades gracefully and not too patchy after eating. Once you eat by the way, I recommend that you wipe it off and go for the tint. You can reapply but please do wipe off the first layer or else application will get patchy.
I would say that it's a great buy for 300-400 Pesos considering the glide, comfort, longevity and intense color payoff you get with this one. To be honest, since I like matte lipsticks better than satin, I felt that this is way better than the Loreal Infallible Lipstick line. But that's personal preference speaking. :)
Overall? a 4 out of 5!
I love matte lipsticks and almost all of my lipsticks are matte. I've always been a fan of L'oreal's true match foundation but haven't tried any of their lipsticks. Your review has convinced me to try them - or am I just looking for an excuse to go lipstick shopping? Haha. Based on your swatches, Mont Blanc seems like a great everyday shade. And super value for money at P400!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what's with me but I still am not convinced in trying to purchase beauty products from Lazada. I usually review Korean beauty products and Lazada has some issues regarding different Korean beauty stores not supporting the online shop of what they sell. Anyway, as for the lippies, I like the first one which is almost nude and a great MLBB shade. The brownish tone on the last shade was also catchy which is perfect for casual and night time.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I always find a lot of lipstick not to be transfer-proof. Whenever I have a busy day and no time to retouch, I always go for tints. It works for me.
I personally love loreal brand, I wasn't able to try their lippies and after reading this I would love to try the Mont blanc. I'm on the nude side
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I also saw these recently and I was so tempted I ended up buying two. Hehehe. Loving them so far 😊😊😊
ReplyDeleteAwwe! I love all three shades plus the fact that these are matte lippies. Loreal has always been known for creating quality cosmetics, in fact I am a believer of the brand. I have some lippies from Loreal but i haven't hot the ones you posted. I think I'll try the pale pink out. ;)
ReplyDeleteNice review! I love darker lipsticks as lighter ones tend to make me look like a Minaj given my more morena skin tone. Comtesse and The Fort will definitely make it onto my to-buy list. This is actually pretty good considering the price and wear length - Kylie's lippies don't stay on the lips for too long after eating and it just looks weird then. :)
ReplyDeleteI use L'Oreal as a brand quite often. I've tried several of their lipsticks. But this one I haven't tried yet. A score of 4 out of 5 isn't too bad! I like the pruple comtesse color! I usually wear a lot of red lipstick, but I love that color as well.
ReplyDeletei love your review actually I also got the same shades read my review here:
