Brgy. Bel Air Makati Intersting and Fun Facts | Pasinaya Festival 2017

Bel Air Village has developed from a small community of pilots to one of the most vibrant baranggays in Makati, and the whole of Metro Manila. Today, the village celebrates 60 vibrant years with "Bel-Air: Kumikinang", the 2017 edition of their annual Pasinaya Fiesta, to be held from May 26-28 at the solar street park in Bel Air 3.

With that, here are some interesting and fun facts about Bel Air, and check out their list of activities below! I hear there will be a fashion show with Zalora, and Bel Air Idol promoting and letting their kasambahays shine and have some fun as well!

Check out a sneak preview of the Pasinaya Fiesta here on my Youtube Channel!

FUNFACT 1 : Home is shaping up!

One of the most unique things about Bel- Air is not only the people in it, but the shape of the village itself. From the air, one can see that Bel Air looks roughly like a tobacco-pipe.

FUNFACT 2 : Women Cruisin Along...

Back in the 60's, Brgy. Bel Air was one of the few places in Metro Manila where it was common to see women driving. During this time, the women of Bel- Air cruised down Makati Avenue and Jupiter St. int heir own cars, just like in the Hollywood movies of old.

FUNFACT 3 : Clean and Green

Bel- Air is well known for it's community programs which engage all sectors of the community. One aspect of community service that Bel Air has down pat is cleanliness. Which is why after 8 consecutive wins as the Cleanest and Greenest Brgy. in makati, the city government included Barangay Bel-Air into the Makati Clean and Green hall of fame in 2005.

FUNFACT 4 : Foodie Haven

Did you know that the Salcedo Community Market is a barangay initiated project, now managed by the women of Bel Air Foundation Inc. What started out as a community event showcasing Bel Air entrepreneurs's produts ins now a go to spot for gourmands around the metro, and is accredited by the Department of Tourism as a Tourist Hub

FUNFACT 5 : Pasinaya Fiesta

The Pasinaya may seem to be already woven into the fabric of living in Bel Air, but did you know that it really started by year 1993? The current Barangay Chariman Nene Lichauco created this event, their Fiesta, to help promote camaraderie and a community spirit among Bel-Air residents.

Pasinaya-10
One of the best things about Pasinaya is how everyone is involved, with all parts of the Bel Air Community participating in the dances and special numbers, from the kasambahays and drivers, to the youth, women, men and seniors.

This year's Pasinaya festival for the 60th anniversary of Bel Air holds true to what I have mentioned above, with their Bel Air Idol, fashion shows for people and even dogs! There will also be free kalesa rides for children form 1-5pm, there will be a Moana Bubble show for kids so that they can get up clse and personal with their fave characters, and games and prizes are up for grabs with the participants of Bel Air Challenge :D

Those are just some of the fun that's happening, and this Pasinaya : Bel Air at 60 is open to all public :D So let's come one and come all! :D
