Blair Be The Statement Velvet Matte Lipstick Review
Hey! Today I'm reviewing and giving you swatches on the Blair Japan Be the Statement Bold and Matte lipstick. I'm still on the look out for another matte lipstick that can keep up with the color payoff and can comfortably of my long lost Nicole Cosmetics lipstick in Hypnotize. Let's see if this can surpass my expectations shall we?
The packaging of the Blair Japan Lipstick looks luxurious with its glossy black and gold packaging. I don't like the glossiness though cause it makes it prone to fingerprints. I'm more of a matte person when it comes to my packaging.
It does have a magnet clasp for closing and so far it has been good in my bag - no accidents.
You can get this in Blair Japan Be the Statement Bold and Matte Lipstick in Zac in Beauty MNL on sale now, for only 199.00 Php
The color that I have here is Zac, which is a nice peachy nude. Upon first swatch on my wrist I had high hopes that it might just be a dupe for my beloved hypnotize lipstick.
The ingredients of this lipstick are as follows:
- Collagen
- Hyaluronic Acid
- Royal Jelly
- Iron Oxides
- Tocopherol
- Calcium Stearate
- Polysilicon-2
- Butylene Glycol
- Water-Oryzanol
When I swatched it on my lips though, it was way lighter than what I expected. It is teetering along the lines of a concealer lipstick and a peach perfect one. It was not as flattering as the Nicole Cosmetics in Hypnotize when worn without makeup as it looks a teeny bit pale to my morena (NC 35 to 40ish skin here), but I can make it work when I mix it with some Careline Kiss Sticks in Vacay at the center of my lips. You can see this in the next photo below, with me in the Brother Printers photobooth.
Longevity wise, it is much like any other bullet type lipstick, and for it to be truly matte you need to dab it with some tissue cause it has a demi matte (not totally satin) look. I also don't like the fact that it creeps into my lips and makes it look cracked when worn alone after around 30 mins or so. That is with me having exfoliated my lips and put on lip balm as well before applying. And for some weird reason, it smells like crayola. You know, that Amspec/Lil Hands Crayola crayons? Yep.
Price VS. quality, I don't think I will repurchase the exact lipstick in the same shade. Maybe I'll try the other colors next time but for this exact shade of Zac, I'd say it is a no for me.
