My Top Picks at Aozora Japanese Restaurant in Tagaytay
We went to tour Las Pinas a a couple of weeks ago, and the tour ended up with me and my blogger friends over at the top of Tagaytay. We had dinner at this authentic and quaint Japanese restaurant beside Eco Hotels, right at the street that's in front of Starbucks tagaytay that has an amazing view. Aozora in English is actually Blue Sky, and while we dined there at night I am pretty sure that you can get an amazing blue sky view along with the Taal Volcano when you dine there in the day.
My Top Picks
Aozora Fried Rice (Php 270) I say that they are definitely authentic cause their Cha han or fried rice is akin to the ones I had in Japan before. They also use authentic japanese sticky rice which is a plus for me!
Kani Salad (Php 310) is said to be a crowd favorite in this restaurant. They have a different take with their salad dueto hheir homemade mayo dressing and the fried kani atop the salad. A perfect way to take out the "umay" in their other, really flavorful food.
I am a sucker for a good sushi, and the Dragon Maki Sushi Roll that they have here is another must try. It is made with an ebi temoura/shrimp center, and while you may think it looks too overloaded, I can assure you that it actually ha a great balance of flavors.
The Ambiance
Aozora's ambiance keeps things simple and wooden, much inspired from japanese izakayas. They have ample seating for large groups as well as outdoor seating if the weather is good.
