8 by the Street: A Korean Inspired Cafe in Las Pinas

 

Craving for a proper egg drop sandwich and other K-Food? I've got a very aesthetic place for you here in the south. 8 by the Street is a Korean Inspired cafe that serves up egg drop sandwiches, Korean corndogs and fills up our coffee cravings. I went there a couple of weeks ago and it definitely lives up to the hype of aesthetic cafes that you usually find in K-Drama series, and the food is also really good.

Drinks and Sandwiches at 8 by the Street

Their drinks menu can be enjoyed for coffee addicts and non coffee addicts alike. If you're into coffee you can start with their signature Keopi (118 Php hot) that has caramel and vanilla foam on top. I ordered a Salted Caramel Latte (118 Php) for myself, iced and Lee of Momma Lee Adventures went with a Caramel Macchiato (118 Php) for her. The salted caramel coffee is perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and the coffee stands out in a nice way.

Their non coffee items include Yakult Lemonade, Korean Strawberry Milk, Matcha Latte and Korean Banana Milk. 

 

Egg Drop sandwich is a staple food in Korea. It was popularized by the K-drama Hospital Playlist. It is usually made with fluffy scrambled eggs alongside cheese and some ham or bacon in a very rich brioche toast. A perfect brunch, merienda, or dinner, that is so yummy, and filling. And the perfect place to go here in the south for this craving is in 8 By the Street.

Their egg drop sandwich is really filling. They named their flavors after famous cities in South Korea. I had Myeongdong (148 Php, + 30 for k-Fries), which has chicken fillet inside and lee had their original egg drop sandwich called Itaewon (98 Php) with mayo and cheese.

The sandwiches are extra yummy for me with the buttered brioche loaf, melted cheese, double fluffy eggs, chicken fillet, lettuce and that magical garlic mayo. You can also get a side of their K-Fries for an additional 30 pesos, but the sandwich itself is already filling and big enough for me.
