Think big waves perfect for surfing, pristine, clean beach coastline and that warm summer sun. That's what awaits you on the coastal town of Liwliwa, San Felipe Zambales. No need to pass by super winding mountainous roads just to get a taste of surfing, or that clear beach. You can just as easily find it in Zambales, which has all of these.

We stayed in Fulgueras Beach Resort with friends and family as a sort of reunion after the past year's recent happenings. It was really nice because the beach coastline wasn't crowded, and that's just the start!

Fulgueras Beach Resort Ammenities and Room Rates

Fulgueras Beach Resort is suited for big team buildings and events as the place is quite vast. The whole resort is divided into two huge spaces, one of which is nearer to the coastline. Aside from the expansive beachfront, they also have a big infinity pool and a kiddie pool that's for those below 3 feet. Every corner of this resort is pretty much great for photos, from the vast coastline to the cute set up of their nipa huts and the pool.

They have a lot of kubos and rooms to choose from. We stayed in their pink Nipa AC room for 4 pax, which has a bunk bed with fresh linens and air con inside. You also have a cute little living room outside. There is a communal cr to be used for this set up. Our friends occupied the neighboring Nipa Big AC rooms.

They also have these Teepee huts which are situated on the nearer side of the beach. I'm gonna go back and stay in one of these for the next, cause they're so cute. It can handle 3 persons per teepee. You can also pitch your tent, or rent from theirs if you're more into glamping or camping.

They're also great for big weddings or debuts as they have two function areas as well as a big AC room that can house up to 12 pax.

Activities to do around Fulgueras Beach Resort

We had fun catching the waves and getting a bit of tan. While you can't do much snorkel or diving, The waves are so big that you can definitely learn how to surf here. A lesson and surf board rental is priced at around 200 to 500 Php. We rode the ATV, and the rental would cost you around 1200 Php per hour. You can also play volleyball for free in their sandy court, as well as sing your hearts out to karaoke at around 1000 Php.

If you got yourself on the beach side area, for tent pitching or the teepees, you can also avail their bonfire for only 500 Php.

Food in Fulgueras Beach resort

They have a mini milk tea/coffee stand near the lobby area of the resort. I'm not too sure on the food set up but one of the Duplex Nipa that we rented had its own kitchen. What we did was to go to the market and buy our seafood there fresh. There's also grills available on request. You can just ask the lobby for more questions on this.

There's also many karinderya, restaurants and even cafes around Fulgueras Beach Resort that serve full meals from P70 onwards!

How to get to Liwliwa, San Felipe, Zambales

By Bus

Take a bus from Pasay or Cubao bound to Iba or Sta. Cruz, Zambales. Tell the conductor of the bus that your stop is in San Felipe, Otherwise, you’ll be paying for the whole trip to Iba/Sta.Cruz which is more expensive. Bus fare would probably be at 380 Php to 400 Php.

That's cause the route to Iba/ Sta Cruz is around 400- 450 Php max according to Victory Liner. From the bus stop in san felipe, take a tricycle going to Liwliwa Beach. Fare is at an estimate of P30 each.

By Private Car

This is how we went. Started off from Las Pinas, we took to the NAIA Skyway route all the way to NLEX. We took the SCTEX exit and followed road signs leading to Subic then, Zambales.

If you're thinking of your next beach adventure, or if you want to learn surfing, consider going to Liwliwa, Zambales as it is much nearer without the winding mountainous roads for us coming from the metro.
