Midas Hotel and Casino Lights up their Christmas tree along with the warmth of ‘Pasko ng Pamilyang Pilipino’
The centerpiece is the magnificent Midas Christmas tree, which stands tall in the iconic hotel lobby, adorned with a stunning array of intricate ornaments that reflect the beauty of Philippine Christmas customs while embracing modern-day flair.
Curated and styled by Egan Ray Hugo, this year’s décor concept features vibrant elements inspired by traditional Filipino symbols of Christmas, such as parols and woven textures, while harmoniously intertwined with a contemporary color scheme of gold, silver, and white, embodying the boutique lifestyle brand that Midas is known for.
Highlighting local craftmanship, the décor also features locally sourced materials that are proudly Pinoy, such as parols from Cavite and Batangas, capiz from Las Pinas, rattan lamps from Quezon, and abaca products from the Bicol region. The tree’s breathtaking visual tale is further enhanced by delicate blooms fashioned from fine abaca fiber and alluring angels in white and green hues.
Using native amakan, the tree’s base is uniquely shaped with stairsteps that mimic Banaue’s magnificent rice terraces. Additionally, Christmas parols are draped in trees across the foyer to create a majestic yet welcoming ambiance, encouraging visitors to experience Paskong Pinoy in its purest form. This enchanting display seeks to evoke feelings of togetherness and the festive spirit reminiscent of the vibrant Pinoy fiesta, all within a modern setting.
“We wanted to create a magical surrounding that not only highlights the beauty of the Christmas season but also honors our rich cultural heritage,” said Lily Del Rosario, General Manager of Midas Hotel and Casino. “The Pasko ng Pamilyang Pilipino theme encapsulates our collective nostalgia for family gatherings, joyous celebrations, and the warm embrace of home, making it the perfect way to celebrate Christmas at Midas.”
Live musical performances by the Vox Fidelium chorale and trio entertainment enriched the evening even more. They serenaded guests with classic Christmas carols, bringing a heartwarming ambiance that resounded with everyone.
Sharlene Batin, ASEC of the Department of Tourism; Bob Zozobrado, General Manager and COO of the Philippine Retirement Authority; Patricia Javier, Celebrity Guest; Lily Del Rosario, General Manager of Midas Hotel and Casino; Peter Eric Pardo, Chief of Staff of the Pasay City Mayor’s Office; and Arpie Patriarca, Founder of Feed Hungry Minds, were among the notable guests who graced the occasion. Their presence underscored the community spirit and shared commitment to celebrate love, harmony, and the joy of giving in this most wonderful time of the year.
