What's new at Gerry's in SM Bacoor

Okay, so I went to Gerry's Grill a couple of days ago. The one in SM Bacoor, just because I wanted to have lunch, and ended up getting to see a new, cool vibe with the place. No more dark and dingy look, the place itself has transformed into a cozy and bright hang out place with family or friends. There are a couple of new additions to their menu, but I also saw our old favorites. And of course, I ordered them cause I got curious.

For starters, I tried the Oriental Tuna Sashimi with those fried wonton crisps on the side.  The tuna was so fresh, and a bit spicy with the dip it came with, and the wonton crisps added a nice crunch.  It was a great start! Then I had the Chicken Kebab, which was perfectly marinated and served hot.  It was juicy and flavorful, and the sauce they gave with it had a nice tang.

The Fried Hito was surprisingly good in all aspects. It was so big that it could barely fit on the plate. Crispy on the outside and flaky inside, they paired this Chimichurri sauce and Atchara on the side. The chimichurri was really fresh and herby, and the atchara added a sweet and tangy contrast. Personally I like the chimichurri blend they did, it was the bomb and it can honestly pair with any other dish that needs dipping in Gerry's. I also tried the Chichabits, which are basically crispy pork cracklings.  They were so addictive, I couldn't stop eating them!

I also had a couple of classic items from the menu, an order of Crispy Pata which was pretty huge portion but so worth it!  The pork was so tender inside and crispy outside, and the dipping sauce they gave was perfect.

And finally, the Sizzling Sisig was a classic.  It was sizzling hot and flavorful, with the perfect combination of pork, onions, and spices.  I got it with an egg on top, which made it even richer and creamier. But the best thing I love about Gerry's is that you can order your sisig in anyway you want, with or without egg.

For dessert, I had their classic Halo Halo, as well as a drink of their new Christmas Cooler in strawberry. I really loved that one, I think I found a new favorite drink in Gerry's. I hope it stays to be a usual drink in the future.

I found that they also have these Merry Meals which are their group holiday meals that can serve up to 4 people, and they also feature some of what I had above. They also have rooms that can accommodate big parties of people.

Its nice to see a classic restaurant grow and evolve, and from what I see, while Gerry's remain a classis place, the new revamped light ambiance and the new additions to the menu make it an even better place to try some delicious Filipino food. They've been at it for more than a couple of decades and they know the palette of pinoys. You won't go wrong for your celebrations or lunch outs with friends and family at Gerry's. At the end of the day, with the great food, awesome ambiance and even greater service, you'd still rather be at Gerry's!
