Iskaparate.com Celebrates Lunar New Year with Free Chinese Delicacy Cooking Workshop
I had the chance to change up my Chinese New Year traditions when I witnessed firsthand the culinary magic of Chef Cathy Yu, the talent behind Save Bakery and Café Philippines, as she led a group of lucky participants through the creation of traditional Chinese dishes in celebration of the Lunar New Year.
This was all made possible with Iskaparate.com, a digital platform for small and medium business owners that is focused on building success for small business owners while providing consumers with newfeatures and programs to make online shopping a learning experience.
The month's workshop featured a mix of 7 sweet and savory dishes including Huat Huat Noodles, Baked Honey Pork Steak Char Siu, Gyoza, Almond Cookies, Pineapple Pastry, Fried Milk, and Easy Egg Tarts. Used in some of the recipes are products and tools provided by the event’s generous sponsors: Arla, Klio, RFM Corporation, and Sysu International.
A Fun Learning Experience
As I went inside the All About Baking branch in SM North EDSA, I was immediately greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere. The place was filled with fresh ingredients, you can smell the butter that's being creamed and the vibe of the other attendees that are excited to learn something new that day.
Chef Cathy Yu’s energy was really what made everything more engaging. She guided us step by step through seven different dishes, ranging from savory to sweet. Chef Cathy was very hands-on with the workshop. We all had busy hands with rolling dough, mixing up our gyoza and learning new techniques and recipes like Pineapple pastry and how to make our own easy egg tarts. Each dish was new to me, and I felt like I was learning secrets passed down through generations.
They say that if you have good tools and ingredients, you get even better results. And the provided ingredients by Iskaparate were top-notch, thanks to the generous sponsors like Arla, Klio, RFM Corporation, and Sysu International.
They also had us use the Unox BAKERLUX SHOP.Pro™ LED and TOUCH ovens. These ovens are next-level, perfect for home Chefs! The humidity control and digital panels that the UNOX Oven we used made cooking feel like an art, with every dish that needed to be baked coming out perfect.
Personally though, aside from the super easy egg tarts, I also loved to learn about how to make my own gyoza. Dumplings are always a hard thing for me to do, and the workshop opened up our eyes to the possibilities.
Learn and Earn in more ways with Iskaparate
The free cooking class was a result of Iskaparate's sitewide promo, hosted by DTC Promos Inc., where subscribers joined for free and had a chance to be among the selected lucky winners to participate.
Present at the event were two of Iskaparate.com’s core teams, DTC Promos Inc. President & COO Marissa Dames, who introduced two of the platform’s newest programs: Vendor Referral Program and Affiliate Program.
RAVE - Refer a Vendor (Vendor Referral Program)
The general idea of the Vendor Referral Program is to introduce Iskaparate.com to an entrepreneur and guide them as they join the platform as a seller.
Once the referred vendor is successfully on board, the referrer is entitled to receive a commission on every sale.
Interested referrers may contact Iskaparate directly via Facebook page or email.
TAP - Tell A Pal (Affiliate Program)
The Affiliate Program is a more open program that does not tie one to a specific vendor but allows them to market or promote any product from the website and earn commissions.
Through the ReferralPulse platform, affiliates can view their personal dashboard and have access to their engagements, commissions, and other statuses.
Interested affiliates may visit ReferralPulse and create an account.
This event is the second collaboration among Iskaparate.com, All About Baking, Unox, and Chef Cathy Yu after the digital launch held on November 19, 2024, with a Christmas Mooncake Workshop.
The first cooking event they held last January 18, 2025, the Chocolate-Making Class with CMV Txokolat Founder and Master Chocolatier Christian Valdes. It garnered popularity on social media and reached audiences from all parts of the country, attracting more interested individuals and inspiring bigger, more interactive events in the future.
Unlike typical online marketplaces centered around sales and public exposure, Iskaparate.com focuses on building success for small business owners while providing consumers with new features and programs to make online shopping a learning experience.
