Duchess Fine Teas' is founded by Ms. Dee Ledonio, whose mission is to redefine tea culture, especially here in the Philippines. The brand introduces a luxurious yet accessible tea experience with handpicked teas from India, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, China, Korea and Sri Lanka.
Redefining the Art of Tea, One Cup at a Time
Duchess Fine Teas aims to bring the world's finest teas to homes, hotels, cafes, and restaurants across the country. "Tea is more than just a drink-it's an experience, a ritual, and a connection to cultures across the world. At Duchess Fine Teas, we are passionate about sourcing only the best, ensuring that every sip tells a story," said Dee, Founder of Duchess Fine Teas.
If you are a late bloomer for tea, I assume that you had your first taste of tea in a café, or hotel room's included amenities. After all, tea has a reputation for relaxation, healing, and is often used for socializing with an air of sophistication. Mine was while my family and I were out on a staycation in a hotel, and I wanted something to drink so I can relax, so definitely not coffee. When you're converted to be a tea drinker though, I am sure that you noticed that most establishments had the usual flavors of tea, from the same brand.
It truly is exciting that Duchess Fine Teas is here to shake things up, and open all tea lovers alike to all possible flavors of premium tea, and make it accessible to all.
The Birth of Duchess Fine Teas: A Founder's Journey
For Dee Ledonio, entrepreneurship has always been second nature. At 21, she took a leap of faith and started her first business. Her journey into the world of tea wasn't planned - it was a happy accident. While exploring Europe, particularly the UK, she fell in love with the tea culture. Wandering through charming tea cafes, she discovered the exquisite blends and the elegant ritual of tea drinking.
From the rich, malty flavors of Assam to the delicate floral notes of Darjeeling, she discovered that tea was more than just a beverage-it was an experience, and a bridge to different cultures.
She found it to be a sensory delight, yet it also sparked a lingering question: "Why is it that in the Philippines, our tea selection is so limited?" That question ignited an idea.
With the help of a trusted friend and co-founder, Duchess Fine Teas was born, by bringing in carefully curated selections from all over the world. Each tea blend carried the heritage of its origins, and Dee knew it was time to introduce Filipinos to the true art of tea drinking. Tea, known for its health benefits and sophistication, was poised to become a popular alternative. Dee's journey, from a single Christmas gift to a full-fledged business, proves that inspiration can strike at any moment.
